In this post, we are going to share the recipe of hot chocolate. Hot chocolate is basically like drinking melted chocolate made up with cocoa powder and vanilin extract in hot milk with melted dark chocolate. A combination of cocoa powder, vanilin extract, sugar and dark chocolate make this hot chocolate extra flavorful and delicious. The dark chocolate melts and make it more rich creamy and luxurious. It is so incredibly easy to make homemade hot chocolate. It is simple, delicious, and so much more satisfying than the store bought stuff. According to historians; The roots of hot chocolate can be traced back to the ancient Mayan civilisation in the regions of Mexico and Central America. Around 500 BC, Mayans people began cultivating cacao trees and discovered the pleasure of a drink made from its beans.

How to Make Homemade Hot chocolate!
Homemade hot chocolate is our family drink and we love it alot. Our recipe is really very simple and a rich and creamy homemade hot chocolate recipe that is ready in minutes. You can prepare hot chocolate very quick with our recipe and learn how to make real hot chocolate using staple kitchen ingredients.
Tip: please watch out! Cocoa and chocolate can settle at the bottom of the pot. Avoid burning your homemade hot cocoa by cooking it over medium heat and stir continuously.
Recipe for Homemade Hot chocolate!
There are just 5 ingredients needed for this recipe. They are milk, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, bitter chocolate and granulated sugar.
Here it is our simple and quick homemade hot chocolate recipe;
Serve: 3 servings, Preparation Time: 5 minutes, Cooking Time: 5 minutes, Cuisine: Mexcian Cuisine,
Very good family favourite;
Ingredients: 2 or 2,5 Cups of milk, |
Ingredients: 1 Tablespoon of cocoa powder, |
Ingredients: 1 or 2 Tablespoons of granulated sugar, |
Ingredients: 2 teaspoons of wheat starch, |
Ingredients: 100 gr Bitter chocolate, |
Ingredients: 2 tablespoons of Pistachios for topping, finely chopped or blended, |
Firstly combine cocoa powder, sugar, wheat starch and milk in a sauce pan, |
Cook mixture over medium heat and bring the milk to a boil, |
Then add the bitter chocolate pieces into the mixture and stir continuously, |
Meanwhile chop your pistachios finely or blend them for topping and set aside, |
When the chocolate has melted, pour it into a glass, then sprinkle the blended pistachious over the hot chocolate, |
- 2 or 2,5 Cups of milk, (nearly 500 ml),
- 1 Tablespoon of cocoa powder,
- 1 or 2 Tablespoons of granulated sugar, (if you want, you can add more sugar in it),
- 2 Teaspoons of Wheat Starch,
- 100 gr Bitter chocolate,
- 2 Tablespoons of Pistachios, for topping, (finely chopped or blended),
Preparation:
- First of all, put your all ingredients on the work table. Then combine cocoa powder, sugar, wheat starch and milk in a sauce pan. Cook mixture over medium heat and bring the milk to a boil.
- Then add the bitter chocolate pieces into the milk mixture and stir continuously (Please watch out! Cocoa and chocolate can settle at the bottom of the pot. Avoid burning your homemade hot chocolate by cooking it over medium heat and stir continuously).
- Meanwhile chop your pistachios finely or blend them for topping and set aside.
- When the chocolate has melted, pour it into a glass.
- And cool to desired serving temperature and serve with your favorite toppings. We served it with chopped pistachios.

DeleteWe love hot chocolate! WE always had some ready when the kids came home from school or after a day of ice skating! Our Grandkids always wanted little marshmallows on top of theirs! I will have to try the wheat starch. I friend gifted us chocolate from Mexica and a special wooden mixer just for hot chocolate and it tasted so good.
