We don't think so anyone who doesn't like Pizza. Forexample, In Turkey, pizza is widely sold in the shopping centers, pizza shops and restaurants. Many pizza shops or pizzarias are very popular places in the cities of Turkey. And, especially our youth eat pizza for all meals, from lunch to dinner and even breakfast. Nowadays, pizza shops and pizza restaurants (pizzarias) become centers of socialization, where young people meet to eat, drink, and talk, much like cafes or patisseries are now. Actually, many foods in Mediterranean Cuisine (Mediterranean Diet) likely offer a perfect protection of the organism for the humanbeings and offer a good and longevous life.          We think that, great pizza must begin with a great pizza crust. Some people like thin and crispy pizza crust, while others prefer thick and soft pizza crust. Our homemade pizza recipe has all of them: it is soft, chewy, crispy and its flavor is so good. Plus; we often use ingredients of yogurt and milk.          Recipe of Turkish Style Homemade Pizza 


         A simple Turkish style thin homemade pizza with olive oil, Tomato sauce, Pale Yellow Cheese/Mozzarella Cheese, Turkish sausage (Sucuk/Sujuk) and vegetables (but less meat, we generally use Turkish sausage or Turkish bacon) could help protect you against cancer. Olive oil, cooking tomatoes and cheese are so important ingredients for the protection. Lets skip the pizza delivery and try to prepare a perfect pizza at home. 

         Here it is our Best pizza recipe, "Healty Turkish Style Homemade Pizza Recipe";  

        Very good family favourite;

      Serving: 4 servings (4 Large and big size pizzas), Preparation Time: 2 hours, Cooking Time: 30 or 40 minutes, Cuisine: Mediterranean & Italian Cuisines,  

        Ingredients: (Pizza ingredients list)

        For the pizza dough (pizza dough recipe): All pizza dough starts same basic things; flour, yeast, olive oil, salt and water. Here is the our homemade pizza crust recipe;

         - 500-600 gr or 3-4 Cups Unbleached all purpose flour,
         - 350 ml or 1 5 Cups lukewarm water, (40 or 50°C - 105-115°F),
         - 1 Cup of yogurt and 1/2 Cup of lukewarm milk, 
         - 1 Package of active dry yeast, (1/2Tablespoon),
         - 2 Teaspoons Salt, and 1 Teaspoon sugar,
         - 1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil, 

         For the Tonato sauce: (pizza sauce recipe)
         - 1 Cup lukewarm water, 
         - 2 Cloves Garlic, finely chopped,
         - 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 
         - 1 or 2 Tablespoons tomato paste or pepper paste,
         - 1 or 2 Tomatoes,  chopped, 
         - 1 or 2 Teaspoons red flakes pepper, 
         - 1 or 1/2 Teaspoons Ground black pepper, 
         - 1/2 Teaspoons cumin,  
         -2 Sprigs Basil,
         - 2 Sprigs Oregano,

          For pizza Topping:
          - Tomato sauce (Smoothly),
          - Extra virgin olive oil  
        - 1 Cup of grated Pale yellow cheese/Mozzarella Cheese, (cut a small part of cheese and cut it sliced)
         - 1 Tomatoes, very thinly sliced 
         - Raw Mushrooms, very thinly sliced,
         - 4-5 Black and Green olive,
         - Turkish sausage sliced, (25-30 slices sausage-sujuk-sucuk/Turkish Sucuk),
         - 1 or 2 Normal size onions, (if you want, you can use 4 or 5 Shallots),  finely chopped,
         - 1 or 2 Green peppers or Green Bell Peppers, Their seeds and stems removed and very thinly sliced,
         - 1 or 2 Capia peppers, Their seeds and stems removed and very thinly sliced,
         - Tinned Sweetcorn,
         - Topping of your choice, (You can add whatever you want),

         Preparation:

       First of all, put your all ingredients on your work surface (work table). Firstly, we prepare the dough of pizza.
       Preparation of the Dough: Firstly, we need a large and deep bowl. In a large mixing bowl sift flour, and pour in the active dry yeast on the one side of bowl and the salt and sugar on the other side. Then pour your lukewarm water and add your lukewarm milk and yogurt (homemade yogurt is better: homemade-yogurt-recipe) and stir to combine well. Mix them by using a stand mixer or by your hands, knead the dough until it turns to smooth and elastic, it takes nearly for 10-12 minutes. Then place the dough in the mixing bowl and cover with a damp tea towel and leave for 1,5 - 2 hours at room temperature, until the dough has doubled in size. Take the dough and knead it for a while to take some of the air out. Then, split the dough two equal pieces.
        Preparation of the tomato sauce: Peel and finely chop the tomatoes and garlic, then, put all sauce ingredients: "Garlic, Extra virgin olive oil, Salt, Sugar, Tometoes paste, Red flakes Pepper, Ground Black Pepper, Cumin, Basil, Oregano" into a blender. Blend the sauce until smooth. 
         Cooking Process of Pizza: Firstly, flour a work surface and take a rolling pin, roll the dough until it is roughly the size of the baking tray (or pizza stone if you have one) you are using. Place the rolled out dough onto the baking tray and using your hands, work the dough until it fills the baking tray. Then brush the surface of dough with extra virgin olive oil and then spread a thin layer of pizza sauce mix over the dough. Then sprinkle the grated Pale yellow cheese and tinned sweetcorn on it, then in layers add Turkish sausage, tomateos, chopped onions (or shallots), sliced mushrooms, black and green olive (then -if you have-  followed by your topping choice). Cook the Pizza in Preheated oven at 200°C (nearly 392°F) for 20-25 minutes and then serve straight out of the oven.
