    What is Mediterranean Foods?
    Mediterranean Cuisine is one of the oldiest cuisine in the world. Besides, Mediterreanen Cuisine is not managed by the single culture. When we examine the cuisines around the world, most of cuisines are the product of specific culture or ethnic group. But when we look at the Mediterranean Cuisine, it is so many product of cultural influence and exchange.
After the gave this little information about the Mediterranean foods, lets try to answer; "What is Mediterranean foods?", and "Where is the Mediterranean foods?"  
     According to the medical researches; Mediterranean Foods is one of the healtiest foods for the humanbeing. On the hand, according to some culinary experts in the region; "Mediterranean Cuisine means that - The Art of Eating Well & The Art of Eating Health-"
So what is the Mediterranean foods? Mediterranean foods covers main dishes from European countries such as France, Italy, Spain; North African countries, such as Algeria, Libya and Morocco; and countries of Middle East; such as Turkey, Lebanon, Syria. Also, in ancient times and now, region of Mediterranean has been geographically destined to become a main trading center. And traders have exchanged cultural commodities; such as food goods and spices. Because it is located the intervention between Asia, Europa and Africa. Sothat, Region of Mediterranean is rich in wide variety of spice and ingredients and you may cook ordinary foods pop with flavor. Because, the food of Mediterranean region is easily prepared with fresh, healty ingredients that actually good for everyone, and because of the perfect merging of taste and nutrition that has made Mediterranean Cuisine so popular throughout the world.

 If you are still wondering "What is Mediterranean foods?" You should try foods of Mediterranean; maybe firstly Hummus and Pita Jungle. Because they are so famous throughout the region. Also, we recommend that taste of vegetable dominant cuisine of the region. It is very healty and delicious. Throughout the region; eggplant, artichokes, squash, tomatoes, legumes, onions, mushrooms, okra, cucumbers and variety of greens and lettuces are so widespread and are commonly used. Healty fat like olive oil is very famous in the region. Meat is often used in Meditrranean cuisine too. It mostly used as grilled. But, Mediterranean Rocky terrain cant allow to larger herding animals. Generally, goats, sheep and chickens' meat are commonly seen in the region. Also, Goat and sheep milk are used in a Mediterranean dishes. Yogurt and cheese are very famous. In the region of Mediterranean, sea provides easy access to fresh seafoods.

    Where is the Mediterranean foods; When we answer the question of where the Mediterranean foods is being. First of all, we should draw the border of the region. Mediterranean Cuisine includes the cuisines of all countries that border the Mediterranean Sea. They are: Turkey, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Syria, Israel, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Lebanon and Morocco.  
Before the world war I, Turkish based (Anotolian) Ottoman Empire's Cuisine was very efficient and famous throuhgout the region. Because Ottoman Empire ruled all the Mediterranean region and left a cultural influence. But, when we come to todays, French and Italian foods are well known throughout world.

For centuries, maybe over a thousands years, the residents of countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea have enjoyed a healty life and longevity very much. According to scientific research (2016-2017 years): people who live in Mediterranean region have lover risk of certain cancers, reduced risk of developing heart disease and live longer than the people of other regions.
